In light of State Comptroller findings regarding the delegation of Defense System's delegation to the Paris Aerial Salon, the Movement for Quality Government in Israel turned to the Prime Minister and to the Attorney General calling to discover the identities of the public employees responsible for faulty conduct and to act in their case with official steps including insertion of comments in their files.

The movement sustains that the Comptroller's recommendation, according to which laws defining the maximum expenses and the level of hotels for ministers and their escort during visits abroad must be implemented as soon as possible – the earlier the better.

In its letter to the Prime Minister, the Attorney General and Ehud Barak, the Movement states that according to Attorney General's report published today regarding Defense System's delegation to the Paris Aerial Salon it appears that due to improper conduct of public employees, 313,000 NIS of public funds went down the drain.

The Attorney General stated that he considers this conduct severely, particularly in light of the government's decision from 12.5.2009 to reduce all expenses of public representatives abroad by 25%, and in light of the fact that the State is in the midst of an economical crisis and many of its citizens find it difficult to sustain themselves.
The Attorney added that this conduct may concretely damage the public trust in the Governmental system.
The Movement believes that it is necessary to adopt the Attorney's recommendation according to which laws defining the maximum expenses and the level of hotels for ministers and their escort during visits abroad must be implemented as soon as possible – the earlier the better.
The Movement believes moreover that it is necessary to discover the identities of the public employees responsible for faulty conduct and to act in their case with official steps including insertion of comments in their files.
